I have never written any type of restaurant review.  I’m not even sure what aspects to include, how to describe the food, or what you really talk about. I’ve seen a few well-written ones on other blogs and thought it would be good to try one day.

Ladies and gents, that day has come

For our date night out, my boyfriend and I thought we would try a gourmet grilled cheese and burger place called Toasted.

Did you just say GOURMET grilled cheese?

Truffle Melt (Havarti Cheese, arugula, truffle oil, black pepper, and bacon)

YES.  Yes, I did.

Notice my proof to the left.

In fact, this place was so good and so downright modernly cute, I felt the need to begin my restaurant reviews and tell the world about it.

The Design

Toasted is a unique place.  It’s small but cozy and it has its share of both high-top and regular sized tables.  All in all, it could only fit about 30 or so people at maximum.  They had a decorative wall lined with a periodic table of cheese.  Thick white plaques, all with different names of cheese, where they originate, and how to pronounce them along one wall.  Not to mention, rather than give you a number for your wait, you get a cheese. It was quiet, it was cutesy, and I was pretty much sold.

The Food

Now, I don’t want to take up too much of anyone’s time boasting about the variety of gourmet grilled cheese and creative burger options.  Instead of doing that, I took a picture of our food and my boyfriend’s happy face as proof.

The Service

To be fair, we did have an early date at 3:00 on a Friday.  The dinner rush hadn’t happened yet and we were able to have most of the place to ourselves.  Still, our food was hot, it was quickly made, and the girls running it that afternoon patiently let me ask too many questions about cheese and such.  🙂

Sweet Heat (Jack cheese, caramelized brown sugar pineapple, homemade sriracha BBQ sauce, and cilantro)

With all that being said, our sandwiches and fries to share were only $17.00!  Can’t be that on date night.

In the mean time, here is their website:

That’s all for now.  Say cheese!  🙂

  1. That seems like such a great restaurant! I haven’t read many restaurant reviews but I like how you mentioned the decoration and the food, how it all tied together. Glad you had a good date night 🤗

  2. Not going to lie the food here looks absolutely amazing, the pineapple looks so good! I’m a massive fan of pineapple with everything, and it sounds so adorable too x
